Massage Therapy

Offered through the Cornell Wellness Program:

Matty Termotto, LMT, offers chair massages for stress management and muscle tension reduction in the Helen Newman Hall Lab. She has worked for the Wellness Program as an independent contractor since 1997. Massages are offered Thursday's from 4-6:00pm. Cost is $15 for every 15 minutes. To schedule a session, contact Debbie Gatch via email at dag7@cornell.edu or phone 255-5133. Payment is made by check payable to Cornell University.

Cancellation Policy: Massage therapy appointments may be cancelled until 12 noon on the day of the appointment. No-shows will be charged the fee of $15 per each 15 min. missed appointment.

Outreach Clinics:

What: On-site chair massages for your group

Where: Your office or dorm or staff appreciation party

Time: Outreach Clinics are done for a minimum of 1 hour.

How Many: You may use the time any way you like: 2 people having 30 minutes each, 4 people having 15 minutes each, 6 people having 10 minutes each, or 12 people having 5 minutes each, etc. If you expect an exceptionally large group, Matty is able to bring along as many pairs of extra hands as you might need. She keeps a list of most massage therapists in Tompkins County, knows who's insured, has the appropriate equipment and when they are available. Discounted rates are available for multiple therapists.

Cost & Payment: Since Matty has worked with the Cornell University Wellness Program since 1997, the book work is extra easy. You may pay by procurement card, check or cash. Matty can produce a receipt by email or hand you a signed hardcopy. Anyone she brings along with her can be paid in the same manner. The cost is $60 per hour. Independent Contract #100149

Massage Workshops:

The Massage Workshop is available for groups of any size. It's been a popularly attended event for groups ranging from freshmen orientation to office stress management programs. The presentation includes an introduction of the massage and it's benefits (why, when, who, how much, how massage can accessed on campus). Participants are sometimes encouraged to pair up with each other while Matty takes a succession of volunteers from the group and demonstrates how to massage. During this time, questions are encouraged and there's usually an elevated level of enjoyment during the interchange.

Lecture/Workshops that have experienced high turnout at Wellness's Open Mind Lunch Series where Matty has lectured on topics ranging from Self Massage Techniques to Couple's Massage. The cost for a Workshop is $70 per hour and can be booked for just a half hour for only $35.
